Potentially affected Graduation Bears sold at Auckland University Campus Bookstore from 3 August 2026 to 28 September 2026.
The recall applies only to the three bear styles shown above that have a removable graduation trencher secured with an elastic chinstrap.

Graduation Bear 23cm: 81171
The affected bears are dressed in a graduation gown and have a removable graduation trencher
This recall does not apply to the standard graduation bear where the trencher is stitched securely to the bear.
The Hazard!
Antics Marketing Limited is recalling the three affected University of Auckland Graduation Bears because the elastic chinstrap attached to the removable trencher may not meet applicable toy safety requirements for cord and strap length.
The chinstrap may present an entanglement or strangulation hazard.
What to do...
Stop using the removable graduation trencher immediately and return the affected bear to the University of Auckland.
Customers may choose either a refund or a fully tested replacement graduation bear at no cost.
The replacement is the standard graduation bear with the gown and trencher securely attached.
