This recall applies to all Specialized "Como SL" electric bicycle models: Como SL 4.0 and Como SL 5.0.
“Como SL” is printed on the bicycle’s seat tube or top tube.
The bikes were sold in a variety of colors:
Como SL 4.0: Cast Umber, Dove Grey and Raspberry
Como SL 5.0: Smoke, Brassy Yellow and Brushed Silver
Note that there is also a range of bikes called "Como" which is a different design and not part of this recall.
The Hazard!
Specialized New Zealand has recalled this bicycle because the fork steerer tube may develop a small fatigue crack. This could lead to a progressive failure of the fork, posing a fall hazard.
What to do...
Stop riding the bicycle immediately.
Contact your nearest authorized Specialized retailer with your bike serial number to be logged and schedule an appointment for free replacement of the fork (estimated to be available May 2026).
