The Hazard!

In April 2024, WorkSafe’s Energy Safety have issued a prohibition notice for all Serene S207T wall mounted bathroom heaters. The prohibition applied to all units imported, purchased, or installed since January 2018 are non-compliant.

Testing has found Serene S207T heaters are non-compliant with safety standards. There is a low risk they may be unsafe.

What to do...

Check if your heater is a Serene model S207T

  • Energy Safety considers there is a low risk from continued use. However, if you observe an unusual smell or noise from the heater, do not use it and contact an electrical worker to check it over.
  • New Zealanders can ask the retailer that the Serene S207T heater was purchased from for a replacement or a refund under the Consumer Guarantees Act.
