The Hazard!

In some products a yellow protective cap could have been left on one of the two smoke sensors during the manufacturing process. The yellow protective cap may compromise the alarm’s ability to detect smoke, which can increase the risk of injury / property damage in the event of a fire.

What to do...

Using the identification guide, visually inspect the product through the opening on the side of the alarm for the presence of a yellow cap. If a yellow cap is present, immediately contact Chubb to receive instructions and request a free replacement smoke alarm. If no yellow cap is present, consumers should reinstall the smoke alarm and no further action is needed.
