The stainless steel washers used for the oil supply line to the turbocharger can allow the oil line to become loose. If the oil supply line comes loose engine oil may leak onto hot engine components and result in odour, smoke and, in rare cases, fire.

Return your boat to an authorised Mercury Marine dealer for the Mercury Service Bulletin 16-71 rectification work to be completed. This rectification work involves replacement of the stainless steel washers with a new style copper washer. A yellow dot will be made on the left of the serial number decal to indicate that the rectification has been done.
