The Hazard!
There is a design defect with the Drive by Wire (DBW) Shift Actuator Link Rod on some outboard engines. This Link Rod may break due to fatigue and not allow the vessel operator to shift the engine out of forward or reverse gear, posing a risk of injury due to a possible loss of vessel control.
What to do...
Stop using boats fitted with an affected Frame Serial Number outboard and contact your nearest Honda Marine dealer.
