The Hazard!
KTM Motorcycle Distributors NZ Limited is recalling the GASGAS Cross Country and Motocross model motorcycles (with BRAKTEC rear brake system) because the rear brake caliper can be subjected to excessive stress in certain riding situations, and this can lead to the rear brake caliper assembly breaking.
Cracks or breaks in the rear brake caliper can result in a reduction or loss in breaking performance which could increase the risk of an accident resulting in injury or death to the rider, passenger and/or others.
What to do...
Before continued use of the vehicle the rear brake caliper should be replaced at an authorised dealership.
Contact your local authorised dealer to schedule an appointment to have the rear brake caliper, including the caliper bracket, replaced free of charge.

Customers should be aware that when making a booking with an authorised dealer, confirmation of a booking appointment will depend on replacement part availability.
Replacement stock levels of the rear caliper may continue to be limited over the coming months due to demand. Orders will be prioritised where possible; however, delays may occur and customers are asked by KTM Motorcycle Distributors for their understanding.
