The Hazard!

The Affected Products are twin-blade knives intended for use by electricians, with a shorter 35mm blade for cable work and a longer, 65mm general-purpose blade.

FACOM has determined that there is the possibility that the blades may not be locked in place when fully extended for use.

The blade may therefore fold into the housing without depressing the lock release button if pressure is exerted on the back of the knife blade.

If the knife folds unexpectedly, this could pose a laceration hazard to end users. The probability of injury to end users has been assessed as high risk.

What to do...

End users are being advised to immediately stop using Affected Products and to contact Stanley Black & Decker NZ to arrange the return and replacement of Affected Products.
