The Hazard!

The T-Gen2 with version V2.0, 2.1, 2.2 firmware may stop playing tones or sound files. The lack of warning system may go unnoticed until the T-Gen2 is tested during the monthly test under NZ Standard 4512.

If the T-Gen2 stops playing sounds it will not produce alert or evacuation tones to warn occupants to evacuate a building in the event of a fire.

What to do...

Contact your fire detection system service company to perform a firmware update on the T-Gen2 amplifier during their next service visit. Details on how to perform the update are available from Johnson Controls.
