Affected Batteries supplied from June 2011 to September 2015 with new Toshiba laptops/notebooks or as a replacement battery or with the following models: - Portégé, various models - Satellite, various models - Satellite Pro, various models - Tecra, model no. R840
The Hazard!
Contamination in the battery may cause it to short circuit and overheat.
The battery can overheat and pose potential fire and burn hazards.
What to do...
1. Turn your PC off, switch off at the wall socket, unplug the AC adaptor and remove your battery immediately.
2. Visit the Toshiba website to validate if your Battery Pack is affected. You can use your computer on the AC adaptor without the battery.
3. If affected you will be asked to register to receive a free replacement Battery Pack.
