The Hazard!
The nuts on the gearcase, and on the exhaust housing extension (if applicable), may become loose, allowing the gearcase assembly to detach from the outboard engine.
In some circumstances, this situation may initiate an abrupt change in direction and loss of steering, which could cause serious injury.
What to do...
Call an authorized BRP Evinrude dealer and make an appointment to have your outboard(s) serviced. The service will be performed at no charge to them.
BRP will send a safety recall letter to all registered owners of an affected product.
