Product Identifiers

Some B401 bases with a date code of 6043 or later and installed with S300 detectors may be affected. The smoke detectors are installed in commercial buildings or apartment blocks, and will be connected to a fire alarm control panel which is usually located near the entrance to the building. The smoke detectors are usually coloured white. Please note that they do not have any sounder, emit any tones or warning signals, they do not contain batteries and they are not connected to the mains 240V power

The Hazard!

Series 300 smoke and heat detectors may not power up correctly when plugged in to some B401 bases. Fire Hazards may not be detected.

What to do...

Contact your fire alarm service company to arrange replacement parts. More information is contained in an advisory letter that has been sent to all fire alarm installation companies who have purchased 300 series detectors.
