Nissan J10 Qashqai, Model years 2009 - 2012

Our ongoing quality monitoring has identified a concern related to the steering wheel used on J10 Qashqai vehicles. We notify owners in writing to inform them if their vehicle falls within the range of potentially affected vehicles. It has been identified that the steering wheel boss ( a component of the steering wheel assembly) may have been manufactured out of specification. In this condition, if a force is applied to the steering wheel which is higher than the force applied during normal steering operation, the steering wheel may separate from the steering wheel boss resulting in a loss of steering.
