The Hazard!

Insufficient tightening torque in the screwed joint of the steering coupling could cause excessive wear to the universal joint meshing under increased load application. As a result of the increased wear, a transmission of the desired steering torque may no longer be able to be ensured. In this case, the torque transmission between the steering wheel and steering gear would be lost and it would no longer be possible to steer the vehicle. This would increase the risk of an accident.
