We have been advised by Mazda Motor Corporation of a possible safety concern with your Mazda Atenza. Their records show that the passenger side airbag may have been disconnected upon the request of the previous owner in Japan. Your vehicle was subject to the Takata airbag safety recall but due to the unavailability of parts the airbag was disconnected, then sold and exported to New Zealand before the situation could be rectified. We would like to take the opportunity as soon as possible: To confirm the integrity of the airbag system wiring and if necessary reinstate the airbag connector. We will also replace both the passenger and driver€™s side airbag inflators with modified parts.
