This recall relates to a potential concern with the Power Relay Assembly (PRA) which is part of the high voltage system of the Lithium-ion battery in IONIQ Hybrid (HEV) models. The contacts points of the main relays may not be adequate and if the PRA continues to operate in this condition, a loose connection between the main relay contact points could cause an increase in electrical resistance. An increase in electrical resistance can generate heat build-up under the rear seat and the illumination of the HEV warning light while driving and/or an inability to start the vehicle.
