The Hazard!

Husqvarna is aware of five incidents globally in which the 435X or 535 Automowers have caught fire as a result of a degraded battery.

No injuries have been reported.

What to do...

There are two required software updates on the affected models.

The updates are to prolong the battery lifetime and resolve the issue of future battery degradation.

  • The first update will improve the battery charging regime, protect the battery and prolong its lifetime.
  • The second update will install additional battery health monitoring features.

These updates will be through the Automower® Connect app and when notified about these updates marked as safety-related the product owner simply has to accept and install them.

Husqvarna has used the smart connectivity features of the products to identify some specific mowers that need a battery replacement (free of charge by local Husqvarna dealer) and has contacted these product owners directly via their Automower® Connect app and e-mail.

Furthermore, Husqvarna will continue to monitor all other devices remotely and provide battery replacements proactively where needed until the software updates have been released.
