The Hazard!

If your projector is ceiling or wall mounted in a location where it is subject to smoke, steam or vapours containing oils and solvents, the plastic casing can weaken near the projector mounts and the plastic may crack. If the plastic cracks, the projector may fall and cause injury to the user or a bystander. The fall can can also damage the product. Locations where this may be relevant include kitchens or commercial facilities where cooking with oil and smoke is a regular event. If your projector is not installed in such a location, there is no need to take action on this notice.

What to do...

If you have a projector installed in an environment such as near a kitchen or an exhaust extraction fan, should contact Epson for advice and if necessary arrange for a site inspection. Consumers with affected projectors will be given a free inspection service and the installation of a safety wire to secure the projector to the ceiling mount.
