Description

In rare cases one version of the detachable wall plug, supplied with certain models of the Medela breast pump, could split exposing a live wire and creating a risk of electric shock. The detachable wall plugs have been supplied with models of the Medela breast pump since 2009, and have also been sold as Stand-alone AC Power Adapters.

The product is: Detachable Wall Plug for AC Power Adapter supplied for use with the Medela Breast Pump Powered: Swing™, Swing Maxi™ and Freestyle™
Product Numbers: AC Power Adapter 099.0273 and 099.0018



Information for consumers

  • Check whether you have an affected detachable wall plug by comparing with the pictures below. There are three types of detachable wall plug but only the one on the right of the photos is affected. If your detachable wall plug has markings or a white dot on the back of it then it is NOT affected.
  • Stop using any affected detachable wall plugs immediately.
  • If the wall plug splits while inserted into a wall outlet do not attempt to remove it until power to that outlet has been switched off.
  • Contact Fisher and Paykel Ltd to arrange for collection and replacement of the rechargeable wall plug.
  • NOTE: Your breast pump and the AC power adapter component is NOT affected by this recall and does not need to be returned.
