BMW Motorrad has ascertained that, on account of a production fault, the side-stand switches are not correctly sealed. In rare cases water penetrating inside the switch can cause the side-stand switch to malfunction. The possibility of this malfunction causing the engine to die while the vehicle is on the move cannot be precluded.
